Custom made agile
Was having this incredible talk with someone regarding the methodology they’re using and it went something like:
Yes, we’re using a kind of Agile, but it’s custom made to suit our needs.
Me: So… you have sprints, daily meetings and stuff?
Well, sort of, we have meetings when I have something to tell the team and if we have time we do sprints… but we have and use JIRA!
Me: So… you’re more like using a waterfull….
NO WAY! We’re agile! Everybody picks up what task he wants!
Me: Listen… don’t you think you should maybe go with your team on a Agile & Scrum training?
We don’t have time for that….
Basically:
- People don’t understand Agile and use it wrong
- People don’t have time to get better at what they’re doing
- People complain things aren’t working
